Single Mother Entrepreneurs

Our 2021 LBFSV community survey results revealed that 62% of small to medium businesses are women-owned and that 75% of those business owners are single mothers. These mothers are often the only source of income for their households, making them a critical and integral community leaders.

At LBFSV, we believe that supporting single mothers is an integral part of ensuring the entire community is supported and cared for. We advocate for thriving communities and we acknowledge that a rising tide raises all boats. Thus, an important step towards community advocacy is listening to the needs of the community’s single mothers to offer the most aligned, empowering resources to support their entrepreneurial endeavors that benefit their visions, upskilling, and financial literacy.
